Don't worry.

I know that this blog has had a slow start. Simon and I are working on
some things right now (Amyn is taking some time off for personal reasons).

We have not abandoned this project, but it may be a little slower for a
while than we would like.

God bless!

The Authority of Scriptures

In the Early and Historic Christian Church, there was no doubt as to the
importance of the Scriptures in determining orthodox Doctrine. They
considered the Old Testament, and later, the New Testament to be
Inspired and Infallible. They truly believed that the Scriptures were
inspired by God to the point that what they said, God said.

However, many modern Christians (especially in the mainline Protestant
Churches) tend to believe that the Scriptures are not perfect, and that
many of the writings can be brushed off as human bias, or human ignorance.

This begs the question, how do we know what is of God, and what is of Paul?

Writer introduction: Simon Templar

Greetings, and well met :)

My religious background is protestant, evangelical, charismatic. I was born and raised in a non-denominational church. Approximately two years ago or so, I was lead bit by bit back to the traditional, historical church. I would describe my journey thus far as following a trail of bread crumbs. Each new crumb bringing a small revelation that brings me new understanding of the Apostolic Christian Faith.

I am currently a member of the Episcopal Church USA. I'm theologically very conservative, socially very conservative, and politically very conservative. Although I'm not a party yes man, as seems to be the case with many in the neo-con movement.

My main interests in life are, theology, philosophy, writing, teaching, a variety of types of "gaming" (computer, strategy/tactical, rpg etc) and generally enjoying what life has to offer, which is always better with friends

As a conservative who disagrees with Homosexuality, let me explain something.

I do not hate homosexuals. Hate is an ugly sin that Christ condemns
alongside Homosexuality.

I believe that Active Homosexuality is indeed a sin condemned in Scripture.

> 1Co 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the
> kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor
> idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,

However, we are told in the same Scriptures that Christ cared for sinners.

> And as Jesus reclined at table in the house, behold, many tax
> collectors and sinners came and were reclining with Jesus and his
> disciples. And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to his
> disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and
> sinners?" But when he heard it, he said, "Those who are well have no
> need of a physician, but those who are sick.
> (Mat 9:10-12)

Even more, he Died for Sinners.

> For one will scarcely die for a righteous person--though perhaps for a
> good person one would dare even to die-- but God shows his love for us
> in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
> (Rom 5:7-8)

Also, all men are guilty of sin. We are all stained and unworthy of
Christ's Grace.

> for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
> (Rom 3:23)

Homosexuality is a sin. But then again, so is theft, and lying, and
covetness, and greed. I will not treat a homosexual as if he/she were a
lesser person.

I believe it is our job to show the Truth to Homosexuals, not to tear
them down and call them names. I do believe that if a homosexual does
not repent, he/she is on the path to hell. But I would also say the same
of a theif.

Remember, as far as God is concerned, all of mankind is in the same
sinful sinking boat.
